A historic opportunity: support National Parks in NSW

The National Park Estate (Reservations) Bill 2018 is currently before NSW Parliament. The Bill will add a small amount of land to the National Parks system, much less than what has been identified as critical for conservation. 

This is a historic opportunity to expand National Parks in NSW and protect our bush for the future. 

The Greens are moving amendments that will:

  • Expand our existing National Parks by more than 200,000 hectares
  • Conserve areas of critical koala significance across the state, including creating the Great Koala National Park on the mid-north coast
  • Protect the iconic Gardens of Stone in ...

The National Park Estate (Reservations) Bill 2018 is currently before NSW Parliament. The Bill will add a small amount of land to the National Parks system, much less than what has been identified as critical for conservation. 

This is a historic opportunity to expand National Parks in NSW and protect our bush for the future. 

The Greens are moving amendments that will:

  • Expand our existing National Parks by more than 200,000 hectares
  • Conserve areas of critical koala significance across the state, including creating the Great Koala National Park on the mid-north coast
  • Protect the iconic Gardens of Stone in the Blue Mountains, and
  • Stop the expansion of destructive coal projects, including the Wallarah 2 mine on the Central Coast, the Bylong Coal Mine and the Maules Creek Coal Mine. 

We need your help to push everyone in Parliament to support these amendments. 

By amending the National Park Estate (Reservations) Bill 2018, we can protect forests around the state from coal mining, logging and land clearing and create a new Great Koala National Park to help give koalas the protection they need.
